The Department of Physics at Yale University invites applications for a junior faculty position in the area of elementary particle theory, broadly defined. We encourage applications in particle phenomenology, beyond-the-standard-model physics, early universe cosmology, astro-particle physics, string theory, and quantum field theory.
Yale faculty are expected to lead internationally recognized and forefront research programs.
An appointment at the Assistant Professor level is expected, although in exceptional cases, an appointment at a higher rank could be considered. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/1289 and must submit a letter of application (pdf format), curriculum vita, publication list, and a brief description of proposed research. Applicants should also arrange for at least 3 letters of recommendation to be uploaded to the same URL (which can happen only after the applicant has created a profile). For further information about the position, contact Professor Bonnie Fleming, Chair of the Theoretical Physics Search Committee
(bonnie.fleming@yale.edu<mailto:bonnie.fleming@yale.edu>) or Professor Meg
Urry, Chair of the Physics Department (meg.urry@yale.edu<mailto:meg.urry@yale.edu>). Applications that are complete by December 31, 2011 will be assured of full consideration.
Yale is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, and applications from women and minorities are strongly encouraged.
