Alice Ohlson (Graduate Student) working with Helen Caines (Associate Professor of Physics) has just won the Nuclear Physics A. Young Scientist Best Presentation award at Quark Matter 2011, which is the biggest conference in her field. All Post Docs and students speaking were considered, and since this was the first presentation of LHC data with much deserved hype for those experiments, to win with a RHIC talk is even more impressive. Her talk was on Jet-hadron correlations with STAR which she is studying with Prof. Caines and one of her Research Scientists.
