Assistant Professor, Quantum Information Experiment

Position Description:

The Department of Applied Physics at Yale University and the Yale Quantum Institute invite applications for a faculty appointment in the area of experimental quantum information science and technology. Applications will be considered at the Assistant Professor level. Quantum science and engineering is one of five top priority areas identified in the University’s Science Strategy Report and we have a vibrant and expanding community both in the Yale Quantum Institute and described more broadly at Quantum at Yale. Yale is engaged in a campus-wide investment in quantum science, engineering, and materials. Along with multiple appointments in these areas, the University has committed to, and has begun construction of, a new Physical Science and Engineering Building which will provide state-of-the-art facilities in quantum science, including quantum information science and quantum computing.  The successful candidate is expected to initiate a vibrant research group, be an interactive member of the Applied Physics Department, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the excellence of the academic community. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Physics, or an equivalent degree, at the time of the hire. Please address questions to APhyQISExptSearch@yale.edu
