Event description:
“The Beauty and Charm of Quantum Chromodynamics”
I will describe a novel perspective on so called “jet substructure” which has allowed us to access fundamental, heavy flavor dependent phenomena in QCD: such as the dead cone effect. I will give an accessible introduction to the experimental and theoretical physics underlying the technique and discuss its applications to other systems. This work forms a core part of my thesis.
