Event description:

Conformal field theories (CFTs) describe critical points in D-dimensional field theories. In this talk I will discuss a class of non-unitary CFTs with logarithmic correlation functions, known as logarithmic CFTs. These are known to describe interesting theories in statistical physics, like percolation and self-avoiding walks. Unfortunately, the study of these theories in D > 2 dimensions is still in its infancy. I will discuss some phenomenology of logCFTs and analyze how their observables are constrained by conformal invariance. Finally, I will discuss to which extent the conformal bootstrap program applies to these models.
