Particle Theory Seminar: Tyler Corbett, Niels Bohr Institute, “Precision in the SMEFT: the Higgs and Electroweak Sectors”

Event time:
Tuesday, December 10, 2019 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Location:
Sloane Physics Laboratory (SPL), Room 59 See map
217 Prospect Street
New Haven, CT 06511
Event description:

I will quickly review the basics of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) and mention various efforts to build up the foundation of the SMEFT. Next I review the current status of global fits to the open parameters of the SMEFT and motivate precision calculations for the future of the LHC. With this motivation I will elaborate on my recent work on calculations of the Higgs width and the Ward identities in the SMEFT.
