Event description:

Cosmic acceleration is one of the most important issues to be explored by modern observational cosmology. The implications of the acceleration of the expansion of the Universe have inspired ambitious experimental programs to understand the physics of this phenomenon. We can explain acceleration by adding an exotic energetic component called dark energy or alternatively modifying gravity theory. This talk will focus on three different observables to explore cosmic acceleration using spectroscopic galaxy surveys. The first part is devoted to the Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations, where I will review the latest results of the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey; in particular, I will concentrate in the account of theoretical systematics in the BAO analysis. In the second part I will review the Redshift Space Distortions; I will explain the methodology we are implementing for eBOSS LRG analysis using CLPT-GSRSD model, and I will show some early test we have performed on QPM mocks. Finally, I will briefly talk about our first steps using new observable called Marked Correlations Functions potentially useful for future surveys as DESI.
