GSI

Outreach description:

The mission of GSI is to motivate, empower, and interest students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade in developing the skills they need to pursue careers in science. University students and professors act as mentors and provide a context for exploring and understanding the various disciplines of science through hands-on activities in a laboratory environment. Through student scientific-engagement and parental awareness, Girls’ Science Investigations strives to close the gap in science found between males and females today. GSI was founded in 2007 as Girls’ Science Investigations to close the gender gap in science. All are welcome to attend and volunteer.
