Bonnie Fleming (Professor of Physics) has been appointed the Deputy Chief Research Officer of Fermilab starting January 1, 2016. Bonnie will oversee the booster accelerator neutrino program and the development of the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) as that project works its way toward DOE and Congressional approval. With the central role that neutrino physics plays at Fermilab, and the importance of the DUNE project to the future of high energy physics in the U.S., Bonnie will be an excellent spokesperson and advocate for these exciting activities. Bonnie’s position at Fermilab will be half-time and she will continue to have Connecticut and Yale as her ‘home-base’ so we will still benefit from her presence on campus. We congratulate Bonnie and wish her success in this important endeavor.
