August 16, 2021

Yale Physics welcomes Jorge Torres as a postdoctoral associate in physics. He comes to us from the Ohio State University where he has received his doctorate working on data analysis and simulation for the Askaryan Radio Array (ARA) experiment, an experiment on the South Pole searching for the most energetic neutrinos. He will be working with Reina Maruyama in experimental particle physics.

Torres’ research in his own words “I work on the CUORE experiment, and its proposed upgrade CUPID, which looks for neutrinoless double-beta decay.”

Extracurricularly, Torres enjoys cooking, photography, and salsa dancing.
