Yale Physics welcomes Jake Schaffer, postgraduate associate. Schaffer is a member of Meg Urry’s group in the field of astrophysics & cosmology.
Schaffer states, “My research is focused on active galactic nuclei (AGN). More specifically, isolating higher redshift (0.8-1.3) Type 1 AGN and calculating black hole mass and Eddington ratio for the AGN. Currently, my research is focused on AGN in the Stripe 82X region of the sky.”
Schaffer is a December graduate from Yale College double majoring in Economics and Physics.
