The Experimental High Energy Physics (HEP) Group of Profs. Demers and Tipton at Yale University invites applications for a postdoctoral research scientist to join our group working on the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC. The candidate will most likely be based at Yale in New Haven CT, with some travel to CERN.
Our physics program is predominantly focused on both direct and indirect tests of the Standard-Model (SM). For example, we are currently searching for processes that violate lepton number conservation. We also have a new effort on determining the CP structure of Higgs decays to tau pairs. The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to physics data analyses, making use of AI/ML techniques, and will contribute to ATLAS performance, operations, or the upgrade.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics (or have that degree by the time they are hired) and should submit a curriculum vitae, a publication list, and a statement describing their research interests. Candidates should also arrange to have three or more letters of reference submitted on their behalf.
For questions, please contact Prof. Paul Tipton, paul.tipton@yale.edu.
