Prakhar Garg, a research scientist at Yale Wright Laboratory (Wright Lab) has been appointed to the Executive Board of the Coordinating Panel for Advanced Detectors (CPAD), where he will serve a two-year term. He previously served as co-coordinator for the CPAD gaseous detectors U.S. research and development (R&D) collaboration for the past three years.

CPAD promotes and coordinates research and development of instrumentation and detector technologies for high-energy physics experiments. Its members include scientists from both national laboratories and universities, working together to advance detector capabilities and support the future of experimental particle physics.

At Wright Lab, Garg’s research focuses on detector development for next-generation experiments, including gaseous detector technologies and instrumentation for the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Garg said, “I am honored to serve on the CPAD Executive Board. I look forward to continuing to support detector R&D efforts and strengthening collaboration across the instrumentation community.”

This appointment was announced in the January 2026 newsletter of the American Physical Society Division of Particles and Fields (DPF).
