On November 20, 2020 Jack Sandweiss, Donner Professor Emeritus of Physics died at the age of 90. He will be greatly missed by all his Physics friends and our entire community.
Jack was a long-time member of the Physics faculty at Yale since 1957. He was an internationally recognized leader in experimental elementary particle physics and nuclear physics and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He was the editor of Physical Review Letters for 25 years and a distinguished member of the Yale community. He served as Chair of the Physics Department and led Davenport College.
Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. As per his family’s wish, a memorial service will be held sometime next year when we will be able to gather again in person.
