Professor Nicholas Read wins the 2002 Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Physics Prize from the American Physical Society. His citation reads, “For theoretical and experimental work establishing the composite fermion model for the half-filled Landau level and other quantized Hall systems”. Also sharing this prize was Jainendra Jain, who wrote his prize-winning paper while a postdoctoral fellow at Yale.
