Matt Mitchell
Matt Mitchell is continuing his research with David Poland. In his words, “Conformal field theories (CFTs) are mathematical models that describe a variety of scale-invariant physical behavior, ranging from phase transitions in magnets to quantum gravity. Our group is working on the conformal bootstrap: an approach that uses symmetry and self-consistency constraints to establish tight bounds on the parameters of CFTs. This summer, I’m implementing newly-developed numerical techniques to bound the scaling dimensions of critical O(N) vector models.”
