Students in the 2025 Summer Student Research Program at Wright Lab presented their work to their peers, mentors, and the community at a variety of symposia.

The Summer Student Research Program at Wright Lab, held this year from June 2-July 25, is an annual program that began in 2018.  All student researchers working at Wright Lab (WL), the Yale Physics Department, the Yale Astronomy Department, the Yale Quantum Institute (YQI),  and those in certain associated programs at Hopkins Authentic Research Program in Science (HARPS), SCSU (Werth IAF/Quantum Pie), and QuantumCT during the summer of 2025 were invited to join the program.  In 2025, the program supported fifty students.

On July 25, ten students in the program who did research at Wright Lab and the Yale Physics Department, including two high school students, presented their work to their peers, mentors, and the community at the program’s final symposium.

Eighteen summer program students worked on astronomy-related projects (including seven students who are officially affiliated with Yale Physics) and presented at the Yale Astronomy Summer Research Symposium, which was held on July 16, 23, and 24.

Two high school students, who had joined the program via the Yale Pathways Summer Research Internship Program (YPRI), presented their work at a YPRI symposium on August 15. More information is available in an article from August 22, “Wright Lab hosts high school students for Yale Pathways Summer Research Internships”.
