Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Yale Physics is committed to fostering an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion for every member of our department community as we strive for excellence in research, teaching, and mentoring.  Please see the Yale Physics Department Statement of Principles for more information.

Yale Physics is leading a variety of efforts to create a more inclusive, equitable, and welcoming department community, including the undergraduate Women in Physics (WiP) and graduate Women in Physics+ (WiP+); QuARK (Queer Affiliated fRiends of physiKs); and outreach with Girls Science Investigations.  Yale Physics is now also an active member in the APS-IDEA network.  The DEI activities of the Physics Department are coordinated by our Climate and Diversity Committee (CDC).  Some of our initiatives are highlighted below; please explore the links for more information.  There are many ways to get involved.
