Written Qualifying Events for 2026 will take place:

  • Monday August 31, 2026 (Classical Mechanics & Electromagnetism)
  • Tuesday September 1, 2026 (Quantum Mechanics & Statistical Mechanics)

Afternoon review sessions will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays August 4 - 24, 2026

Pre Orientation

Once admitted, we invite you to our open house. Come and meet your professors and peers, tour facilities and learn about our research. If you can’t make it to campus we also offer a virtual option.

 Physics Bootcamp, Monday – Friday, 9 am to 12 pm

Pass out Exams (optional) administered for Fall Core Courses (PHYS 5000, 5060, 5080)

Mandatory – Fundamentals of Teaching, Bystander Intervention Training 

2nd week of January
(optional) Pass out Exams administered for Spring Core Courses (PHYS 5020, 5100, 5120)
