Biographical Sketch

I am a professor of Astronomy and Physics at Yale University, and these pages describe some of the current work in our group. My research interests span a wide range, from stars and stellar populations to the most distant galaxies. I am also interested in astronomical instrumentation and telescopes. Bob Abraham and I initiated the Dragonfly Telephoto Array in New Mexico, the largest (and awesomest) working refracting telescope in existence. In addition to research and teaching I currently serve as Chair of the Physical Sciences and Engineering Tenure and Appointments Committee at Yale.
